UK is tourist paradise. It is home to a number of popular tourist destinations. If you love to travel, you would not want to miss the most interesting places of the world. United Kingdom has got variety of amazing places that simply leave the tourists awestruck. Stonehenge: Stonehenge needs no special introduction. It is quite well recognized among tourists. This prehistoric stone circle dates back to 3100 BC. Though the purpose of building such a sight is still a mystery, it is believed that Stonehenge used to be the center of pagan worship. Managed by the English Heritage, Stonehenge can be visited in the early morning and late evening.

Lake Windermere: If you take interest in natural beauty, this side is simply going to make you mesmerized. Nestled in Cumbria, it is the biggest and largest natural lake in England. Windermere is 1 mile wide, 2 miles long and 220 feet deep. It is a major part of the Lake District National Park. Owned by the National Trust, the west shoreline of this lake is a haven for wildlife.

Tower Bridge: One of the most popular landmarks of London, Tower Bridge is a man made marvel that has surprised the tourists down the ages. It is also one of the most renowned bridges of the world. Build in 1894, spanning the Thames River, Tower Bridge stands next to Tower of London. High level walkways offer a great view of the bridge. If you check the bridge lift schedule prior to your visit, you can actually see the bridge rising for large vessels.

Chatsworth House: If you want to know what a beautiful castle looks like, Chatsworth House is a must see for you. Located in Derbyshire, it has been the home of Duke and Duchess of Devonshire since its inception in 1549. It is not only famous for its architecture but also because of the 101 acre garden, the adventure playground and the farmyard. It also houses the finest private art college of Europe.

London Eye: Those who wish view all of London at a time, should try the biggest observation wheel of the world. London Eye offers spectacular view of Tower Bridge, Houses of Parliament and Tower of London. It is undoubtedly one of the most interesting places to visit in UK.

The Scott Monument: Built to commemorate the greatest novelist Sir Walter Scott, the Scott Monument is 200 feet 6 inches high. You need to cover 287 steps to reach the top. You can get a panoramic view of Edinburgh's historic Old as well as New Towns.

If you live in UK, you can explore these sights on weekend breaks. But if you are an International tourist, you should have enough time in hand to at least get a glance of all these splendid tourist destinations.
