As many of you already know, Saint Augustine is the oldest city in Florida and the most charming from all those cities around it. Named, as well, "Ancient City", it is placed central-north-east of Florida, having good connections with Daytona, Orlando and Jacksonville. It is a great location to visit, as it offers a constant, perfect climate, being, in the same time, an historic district, with numerous old cobblestone streets, bars, cafes, antique shops and comfortable Inns. Many tourists are amazed by city's morning beauty, when it wakes up together with all those locals going for work, with children going to schools and visitors exploring on foot the significant locations, as: Fort Matanzar, the city watchtower, is a wonderful historical establishment. This tower played its strategic role, by announcing any enemy invasions coming from the south part of the location. Castillo de San Marco helped, together with some other historical buildings, in outer defenses actions. These days, it still seems to protect this marvelous city. Flagler College is a great teaching institute for those looking into study of education, business and art. This college offers details for any visitors or potential students. Lightner Museum is just one of those many museums, you can find in this city. It has some unique characteristics, as its vast array of intriguing items, which features mummies, shrunken heads, old crystal and glass unique pieces, and many more. From these points, you can value, as well, the beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean with many boats and ships, dancing on its waves. What else can you do? There are many tours offered by the tourist agencies as air tours, water tours, trolley tours, walking tours, specialty tours and you can opt for one at any time you wish. There are, as well, eco-tours accompanied by a naturalist, explaining you everything about wild life on creeks and rivers. This amazing city provides you with many accommodation options, as camping, bed and breakfast inns, and beach condominiums or, you can also try, one of those historic hotels. No matter which kind of accommodation you choose, St. Augustine leaves you with the same good impression of a unique, exciting experience. After presenting this city as being calm and quite, probably it is hard to believe that is has a nightlife, too. Well, it has and features great restaurants and elegant bars, creating a truly romantic experience. There are, especially during summer time, many shops opened until late in the night, street live theater and nocturne tourist tours. St. Augustine presents many types of cuisine you can always enjoy, from continental to casual dining. There are many fine, well-known restaurants serving excellent food in a refined ambiance. Besides all those restaurants, you can also enjoy gourmet bistros, casual cafes and waterfront terraces. In conclusion, if you feel tired of your city, if you feel tired of going for any expensive vacations in crowded locations, you just found a great remedy. St. Augustine offers you the chance of having a great, calm, peaceful holiday, and, besides all these, you definitely have fun while doing sports, going for shopping, visiting museums and resting on sunny beaches. It is true that visiting this unique city, you do not go to an exotic location, but I am sure that this vacation is the best one you ever had.
