Thailand, an exotic location, is a great tourist attraction to spend your vacation. It has a tropical climate, dominated by monsoons, with high humidity and temperatures. You should avoid April and May, as they are the hottest months. Then, this hot period is followed by the rainy season, which continues usually until October. The best visiting period is from November until February. Thailand, also called the "Land of Smiles", is one of most renowned tourist places. Having the reputation of being the most hospitable destination, thousands of tourists are visiting this location. Even more, it has wonderful sites, rich with history and culture, great architecture, temples, wild scenery and many more. One of these wonders is the Khao Sok National Park. Situated in the southern part of Thailand, Khao Sok National Park is nothing more than an amazing place. Its rainforest is the oldest one in the whole world, featuring high mountain peaks, clear lakes, deep valleys and impressive caves. Why should you go there for your vacation? Because of all those exciting things you can visit. It is situated between other well-known tourist destinations, as Krabi, Phuket, Koh Samui and Khao Lak and, whenever you wish, you are welcome to enjoy these locations, too. All of them have many things to offer. Khao Sok National park provides you with great activities, truly unique, as trekking on foot, elephant trekking, safaris, canoeing and other more. It features a very rich fauna and flora, including rare tree species and plants, which you are not able to see in other locations. It also has many bamboo trees types and its entire flora serves as a home for all the wild animals, insects, birds, fishes, each of them enjoying this natural habitat. There, you can observe a wide range of rare species as sambar deer, Malayan tapir, gibbon, gaur, wild boar, Asian wild dog and more. There, you are able to visit many locations and all those places are providing you with breathtaking scenery. The first one, Bang Hua Rat Waterfall, invites you to enjoy boating on its rapid waters. This waterfall drops on a natural rocky landscape, in shape of a long stair. It is a great place for activities as rafting and nature trail study. Another great place, Khang Cow Cave is nothing more than a cambered, large cave. It features wonderful stalagmites and stalactites, and squeaking and twittering are spreading their wonderful aroma. Here are big baths colonies and this is the reason why you have to keep quite. It is a great place in forming ideas about geological world. Mai Yai Waterfall, located close to Suratthani-Takuapa road, measuring about thirty meters, offer unique scenery, especially if you visit it in the rainy season. You can enjoy only some waterfall traveling related activities, but the views are something that you cannot imagine. Nam Ta-lu Cave is a location that can be accessed only by boat. The cave is just huge, having an entrance of thirty meters wide. Once you enter, you are going to be amazed about those wonderful stalactites and excessively eroded stones, crossed by a stream, running through the cave. Ratchaprapa Dam is a huge manufactured dam, built to produce enough electricity for the nearby-towns. It hosts many eco-tourism projects. There, you can enjoy boating and trekking around, being the perfect place for vacation photo shots. Sip Et Chan Waterfall is a cascade offering eleven stairs, made of natural stones, which form an interesting view. At its bottom, it features a natural swimming pool that represents an amazing way to cool down, especially after walking around for hours. Tang Nam is a location presenting two cliffs "looking" at each other. There, thanks to the crystal waters, you can observe many species of fishes. You can just walk to that location and enjoy the scenery along the forest. Another wonderful natural place is Tharn Sawan Waterfall situated along the Sok River. The landscape is a little bit more difficult and sometimes dangerous, due to the slippery zones, especially in the rainy season. It is true that there are not so many activities to entertain you, but you are going to see some wonderful views. More, the quietness of the location is just unbelievable. There are no people screaming, no crowded locations, no traffic or busy schedules. There are just you, the nature... and maybe some birdies singing their trills.
