Pearl Farm Beach Resort A resort that comes with a hotel, this establishment is actually not situated in the City proper of Davao. It lies on a small neighboring Island near the city, along the shore line of Garden City of Samal. This is one of the best Davao City Hotels, if you're looking for more than a place to stay and is up for some mild adventures. How to get there? It only takes a half an hour ferry ride to reach this resort/hotel, from the Davao City's ferrry terminal called Sasa Wharf. How it Started.... Before it was turned into what it is now - a beautiful resort that houses an elegant hotel, it used to be a farming area for expensive sea pearls from the south way back in the 90's, thus it got the name "Pearl Farm". The owner of the farm converted it to an expensive resort that houses a luxury hotel and offers amenities that are common in Samal resorts or in any other resorts such as a daily tour in their facility. The tour already includes access to their pool,white sand beach that boasts a picturesque scenario and a stroll around their 11 hectare garden. Basic cost for their services Their day tour would cost you P2,500, that already includes the amenities mentioned above, plus a free lunch. If you want to spend the night in the resort, you will have to shell out some extra cash though because the price for their cottages are high and their dining banquet also is expensive. Unique features - Their rooms showcases local tribe designs, styles that are solely influenced by the Muslim and Indigenous culture that are residents of the locale. - You can enjoy your stay at pearl farm not just by having a dip in their pool or beach, they also have facilities that can provide you adventures which you won't find in other resorts - scuba diving - jet skiing - hobie cat sailing - tenning - fishing Room Prices The prices for their rooms would range from $150 to $700. The prices are ranging high but there's an array of rooms that you can choose from, from basic suites to villas. Below is the run down of the room types and their corresponding prices. Hilltop Room: $150 Samal House: $230 Mandaya House: $260 Sunset Suite (Can accomodate 3 persons): $330 Samal Suite (Can accomodate 3 person): $350 Malipano Villa 3-Bedroom (can accommodate a minimum6 adults) $580 4-Bedroom (can accommodate a minimum6 adults) $680 Waterfront Insular Hotel Formerly known as Davao Insular Hotel back in the 60's. It used to be number one among Davao city hotels during its time. It is now trying to rival Marco Polo Davao's Hotel accommodations. The hotel is deeply lurking on the northern part of the city, it features beach facilities and a ferries that can take you to the city's neighboring Island in 15 mins. The hotel is very famous today for holding large conventions, and is highly visited by elite personalities because its conveniently located near a Casino and a Golf Course. Unique Features Their rooms are spacious and wide, showcasing a picture perfect view of Samal Island and the Gulf of Davao City. Room accommodation: Standard rooms: The price varies per visitor. If you are a balikbayan or a local resident or a Filipino tourist, it would only cost you P4,500 ($100+) to avail their standard rooms. For foreign nationalities, the price would bubble up to P7500 ($180+).
