Things to Do in Auckland, New ZealandBY: David Vince | Category: New Zealand | Submitted: 2011-01-06 11:04:26
Auckland New Zealand is situated between two major bodies of water; the Pacific Ocean, and the Tasman Sea. As such, there are lots of activities that revolve around water, and the beach. But there are other things for families with children to do, so that they can explore this city, and what it has to offer tourist, especially families with children. There is a very popular attraction, called the Harbor Bridge Climb. These are guided tours across the Harbor Bridge. The tourists are able to see all of Auckland from above on the bridge, and visitors can get a great view of all of the yachts that flow through the ports and passageways. The tour takes around 90 minutes to complete, and the tour is suitable for people of all ages. Then, there is the sky tower. Many cities around the world have their own sky tower, and Auckland New Zealand has theirs. The tower is spectacular to look at on the ground, as is even more spectacular to view while in it. People can take elevators to the top. They can dine in the restaurant, which like many sky tower restaurants, is revolving. The tourist will be able to get panoramic views of the entire city from the heavens. It's quite a site to see. If you and your families would prefer to stay on the ground, there is the Auckland Explorer Bus. This is a guided tour bus that is similar to other tour buses that can be found in major cities around the world. The bus route goes through all of the major tourist attractions, and points of interest, such as the zoo, the harbor, and other points of interest such as Antarctic World, and the Museum. Most families want to stop by the zoo of the city that they are visiting, and they won't be disappointed with the Auckland Zoo. Most zoos around the world feature animals that were transported from regions around the world, but the Auckland Zoo features animals right from the island. These animals will give tourist insight to the animals that are indigenous to New Zealand up close and personal. It will be a very exciting and interesting experience for the children. The great thing about Auckland is that the weather pretty much stays the same all year long. This makes it a great draw for tourist who appreciate the warm and moderately humid weather. There are many different cultures in the city, and those cultures lend themselves to have many great restaurant cuisines. New Zealand is a great place for those who are looking for something that is a different type of tourist destination, but yet is still very modern and western in feel.
