Venice or Venezia? Call what you may but the trip will be a 'Lifetime achievement, an unforgettable trip to a city of mirrors. This is a city mirages, city of contrasts, solid and liquid, air or stone. Venice is also called 'City of Water', or 'City of Bridges'. Venice is pure, magnificent and exceptional, has a sequence of over 150 canals, 409 bridges and innumerable antique pavements. Venice is all time captivating despite losing jewels from her crown. Time has been harsh on Venice and left it weathered and creased and diminished the radiant glow but it is still enticing and alluring tourists from across the globe. Venice is different for: • The Grand Canal - a long stretch of water flowing through the city, 'A watery street'. • St. Mark's Basilica - Fine example of Byzantine Empire. • Piazza San Marco - Finest drawing room in Europe. • St. Mark's Square - location of historical events. • The islands of Murano and Buran - world-renowned for lace and glass. • The Palazzo Ducale - Waterfront Palace. • Accademia Gallery - Amazing masterpieces of the great artists of 15th to 18th century. This 'Engineering Marvel' city is rich in architectural designs. If you want to see the highlights of this magical city take a combined tour by boat and walk. Walk through the narrow streets, famous squares and bridges and wander through the cobblestone alleyways or hop on a gondola and take a relaxing 35 minute ride along the world famous Grand Canal.
