Chile provides 4300 km of a rocky coast, from the Strait of Magellan to the border with Peru. In this place, you can have a great holiday, and, definitely, you do not need to speak Spanish. The only thing you need to know is how to enjoy that rocky coast with wild cliffs, coves, islands and all those incredible summer resorts and wonderful beaches. The most renowned Chile beaches are Vina del Mar, Concon, La Renaca and Las Salinas.

One impediment about Chile beaches can be the aquatic current that continuously brings freshly cold waters from the ocean's bottom, yet this makes the swimming a unique, cool experience. The area characteristics, as strong currents and sharp, rocky landscape can be some dangerous elements for any unskilled swimmer. On contrast with these places, there are some wonderful resorts, in the center of Chile that offer a mild climate, predominant Mediterranean and beaches with fine, white sands, where visitors can enjoy hot days and cool nights. In addition, there are some areas in Chile beaches with some tropical influences.

All that amazing Chile beaches are attracting hundreds, even thousands of tourists in every summer. There are many accommodation options as campgrounds, tourist villas, resorts or five star hotels. As well, you can choose your meals from many seafood dishes and great local freshly cooked food. Everything takes place in a lively ambiance, offering you many options to have great fun.

One of the most famous among Chile beaches is Vina del Mar. It is a great, fashionable and wonderful beach resort and a great location for any long vacation. It is the top beach destination within the area, providing golden, fine sands, wonderful for sunbaths, and clear cool waters, great for swimming and water sports. It also provides many restaurants, bars, hotels, and nice souvenirs shops.

Another great seaside resort, Concon has wonderful beaches, as well, with fine sands, looking at the eternal Pacific. Similar with Vina del Mar, the waters are crystal-clear, but very cold. The most known beach, Playa Negra, got its name from the fine, dark sand that is rich in volcanic minerals. This beach offers many recreational activities for families and it is easily accessible from most of the roads.

On the third place, on popularity, is the La Renaca beach. This area has whitish sands and calm waters and provides many tourist's services and facilities. As well, its small waves attract people for swimming, sailing, windsurfing, and even for surfing, whenever there are several days with big waves. The great thing about this location is that you can visit it all year long, as it has a Mediterranean climate that assures the same temperature throughout the year. La Renaca beach provides many choices regarding the services related to food, housing, outdoor activities and transportation.

Another wonderful location in numerous wonderful Chile beaches you should visit is Las Salinas. Many surfers love this place and the ideal time to go for surf is in the winter season. As you can imagine, the weather and water are quite cold, but the waves are huge and beautiful; just the way the surfers like. It is true that sometime it is very crowded, but it is worthy.

As well, Playa Los Lilenes is a great location, especially for those traveling with families. It is protected, as most of the Chile beaches are, from any big winds, by all those surrounding rocks. Its sand in not that fine and even if the sea looks calm, you should not count on its aspect, as there are strong undercurrents, which proved to be lethal in some cases. In spite of these negative aspects, it still has to offer many peaceful days in the sun.

Algarrobo is the center of many water sports and shelters, from time to time, even international championships in many fields. Its calm waters attract you to try many activities, as scuba diving and sea fishing. As well, boating is one important sport chosen by many tourists over there. Of course, besides all these, there are many other Chile beaches and wonderful seaside cities waiting for you to visit them, one by one.
