Venice Restaurant – Bacaro Jazz

How many restaurants are there in Venice? Difficult to count but considering that more 3 millions 5 hundred thousands tourist visit Venice every year, you can easily imagine that the restaurant business in Venice cam be a very profitable one, hence the big market. Venice Restaurants originally specialized only in Sea Food cuisine but have now differentiated to include an eclectic variety of offers; from Chinese restaurants to Indian, to trendy nouvelle cuisine, to Arab and Japanese Cuisine, Venice is trying to resemble to the big metropolis where all types of food can be found;

Of all Venice Restaurants, Bacaro Jazz is probably the most original and innovative; along with one of the latest open and best kitchen in the Venice, it guarantees excellent satisfaction to every single customers. Opened since December 1997, Alfredo, Nicole and the staff have made the Bacaro Jazz one of the must go restaurant and attraction in Venice; over the years the restaurant have continuously renovated the restaurant cuisine and décor; once it opened it appeared like a typical Venetian “trattoria” , where locals were drinking “ombre” (glasses of house wine) and eating “cicchetti” (Venetian tapas appetizers) ; the owner Alfredo had another idea for the place and through continuous enhancements and revolutions of the Menu and décor, nowadays it boasts one of the best Venetian and International cuisine in Venice recommended by the most prestigious restaurant and travel guides;


The restaurant and cocktail bar is open from 4 PM to 3 AM and boasts the latest open cuisine in Venice; the Bacaro Jazz menu offers an heterogeneous delicious mix of local dishes; some of the highlights are Saor and salt cod, Pasta and beans Venetian style with boiled salami & Cuttlefish in black-ink sauce with polenta; it also offers International Cuisine whose highlights are Carpaccio raw beef with balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese, Red chicory flavoured Tagliatelle with duck sauce and aromatic herbs & Filet of white sea bass wrapped with raw ham in tomato sauce with stewed onions). Don’t forget to match your meal with a nice bottle of wine; you can choose from a Brunello di Montalcino to a tasty Valpolicella for red or a fresh Malvasia if you are choosing white wine;

At 4 PM the happy hour starts and customers are able to taste two amongst a fine selection of long drinks and cocktails for the price of one! At Bacaro Jazz you can enjoy the terrific drink Frabellini, the traditional Bellini with an sweet addition of Fragolino; when shades begin covering the city the bar starts filling it high chairs and chatting customers will order a Mojito cocktail, a Coffee Martini, the home made “Sex & Sax” and a comprehensive variety of liquors and long drinks; for the couples that want some privacy they will be seated since the restaurant after 11 PM opens its doors to the bar;

The jazz music that fill up the air couldn’t be more appropriate for this late night restaurant in Venice; soft lights, table candles and wall posters of the greatest jazz masters, give Bacaro Jazz a unique and memorable atmosphere; the décor is really one of a kind, customers’ drawings and testimonials adorn the walls; but if you look up the ceiling you will see something like 500 bras hanging! There are various myth on how the “leave you bra” was started, if you are lucky, Alfredo will share the secret with you; now, everytime a customer leaves a bra they are given a very nice T-shirt that says “I left my bra at Bacaro Jazz and all I got was this T-shirt”!

The restaurant is centrally located near to the famous Rialto Bridge; San Marco Square is just minutes by walking and since Vaporettos run all night, you can easily get one to your hotel or hostel if you stay a bit faraway.
