How they make cocktail margaritas in Tulum, Mexico

By: Sam Little - Article Submitted on: 2008-09-02

At bars in Tulum, Mexico you will not find any big slushy margarita machines filled with colored chemicals, flavorings and cheap tequila. Go to Cancun if that is what takes your fancy! At the boutique restaurants, many bartenders have a blast preparing pure, fresh fruit cocktails that are actually really really healthy, as well as the most delicious beverage you will have on vacation!

First we started with the margarita, which is made with fresh pineapple juice, fresh lime juice; a pinch grated ginger, a dash of organic agave honey and topped with good quality tequila. Wow it tastes great, even if I say so as the inventor! I came to Tulum to invest, not to make margaritas, but look where it’s landed me?!

Then we started to produce fresh watermelon margaritas, followed by fresh mango, fresh papaya, even refreshing cucumber water margaritas (my wife's favorite).

But the biggest excitement finally arrived in the form of our very own, hand cranked sugar cane crusher. We found a supply of sugar cane from the State of Vera Cruz, and now make the most delicious, the healthiest, the most incredible sugar cane Mojitos on the Tulum beach.

Full of anti-oxidants and vitamins and soon we will start using our own organic home grown mint to send the taste into outer space. Just ask Orlando how many Mojitos he had one night to test its anti-hangover powers...the answer is a number more than 12 and less than 14...). So now all out rum based cocktails feature fresh crushed sugar cane. Let us know what you think!

Visiting Tulum Mexico can be an amazing experience, made even more relaxing and enjoyable with a cocktail at sunset.
