By: Anne Travels - Article Submitted on: 2008-06-06

Get ready for a night of 70's rock hits! Cheyenne Frontier Days is pleased to announce that four legendary classic rock bands - The Guess Who, War, Firefall, and Atlanta Rhythm Section - will be featured at the Friday, July 18th night show.

The concert will be a festival-style celebration of the rock and roll hit-makers of the 1970's. The festival will last nearly four hours and will feature four acts that combined have a total of thirty-six Top 40 singles.

The Guess Who will headline the festival. The Guess Who are best known for their early-70's hits "These Eyes," "American Woman," "No Sugar Tonight, "No Time," and "Share the Land." The Guess Who is the first Canadian band to have a #1 hit in the United States ("American Woman" in 1970).

War is known for being one of the first 70's rock acts to have major crossover commercial success with their fusion blend of rock, funk, jazz, reggae, and rhythm and blues style music. This multi-cultural band from California has sold nearly 25 million records and is known for the hit songs "Low Rider," "Spill the Wine," "Why Can't We Be Friends," "The Cisco Kid," and "Gypsy Man."
Firefall formed just across the border in Boulder, Colorado in 1975. Firefall's biggest hit single is the love song, "You Are the Woman." Other hits include "Just Remember I Love You," "Strange Way," "Staying With It," "Cinderella," and "Sweet and Sour."

The Southern rock band Atlanta Rhythm Section will kick off the festival on Friday night. Atlanta Rhythm Section is best known for its hit singles "Imaginary Lover", "Doralville", "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight", "Champagne Jam", and "So Into You"
Tickets are priced from $18 to $33 and will go on sale Thursday, May 1st.
