As you might have heard about, Philippines provide tourists with a vast range of destinations. It is a great location, where you are able to really enjoy spending your holiday over there. This presents a small guide to help you exploring the wonderful archipelago of Philippines.

Manila is the capital city of Philippines and it is a great metropolis. There, you can admire both old and new architecture, presenting a modern metropolitan area, being the most important center for Filipino economy, culture, education and industry. This metropolis hosts renowned universities, as the University of Santo Tomas.

Maybe you do not know it, but Manila is composed from seventeen cities, hosting about ten millions people. It is just overwhelming for any visitor, especially one living in a quite city. Its traffic is just chaotic, and much slowed down by too many pedestrians. You have to be patient to spend some time and, after you get used to the spirit of the city, you are going to discover its little secrets and all those friendly people.

A way they live is shopping. It totals thousands of small shops, boutiques, stores and magnificent giant malls, which you are able to find in any civilized part of the world. You can visit their Cathedral or their old fortress, Fort Santiago. As well, you can also go to Manila Ocean Park, a great marine complex, Malacanang Palace, the residence of the Philippine's President, hosting, also, a museum.

A great attraction is Baguio City, known, as well, as the summer capital. It is a renowned tourist destination, especially during summer, thanks to its cooler climate. There, you can visit the Burnham Park, presenting a wonderful lagoon. It also features many residential areas, an imposable Cathedral and another park, Mines View, providing a view of the local mines of cooper and gold.

Another Filipino wonder is the Banaue rice terraces. They are considered a wonder in the world, with all those terraces carved into the hills. People, without the use of any machinery, did these step-terraces. On the natural levels, locals plant rice, and viewed from far away, the scenery is just breathtaking. The highest step reaches the altitude of more than one thousand five hundreds meters. For tourists it is a great thing, as there are also many trails, so they can actually visit that place.

Bohol Island is a small paradise with whitish beaches, Chocolate hills and the smallest monkey ever saw, Tarsier. It is situated in the center of Philippines, featuring wonderful beaches and many corral reefs. It is a great place for anyone loving nature, with many renowned beaches. As well, there are a huge number of caves, which you can explore. The most popular one is Hinagdanan Cave of Pangalao Island.

Corregidor Island is situated near Manila Bay. This island is actually the ex-Spanish fortress, strategically chosen to warn the City of Manila in case of any attack. If you are curious about this location, you should know that it still features different military installations, bomb-shelters, artillery batteries and many other military and strategically locations.

Boracay Beach is actually referring to the Boracay Island, hosting many beaches. This location is famous, especially because of its White Sand Beach. There you can have as many water and sun related activities as you are able to enjoy. You can lie down in the sun, go for swimming, diving, or snorkeling. You can also try sailing, and, if you still have energy, you can approach, in the evening, its famous nightclubs. This Island also provides numerous bars and restaurants, spread along its beaches.

Puerto Galera Beach is near to Manila, giving you the possibility to visit the great city, as well. This location is actually a string formed by beaches, as the White Beach, Coco Beach, Sabang Beach, Tamaraw Beach and Big and Small Laguna Beach. It is a great location and favorite due to its great prices, too. There you can do any day activities, as swimming, strolling, boating, scuba diving, hiking, snorkeling, jet skiing and others. As well, it also features great mountain scenery, so, on a small island, you are able o find anything you wish for a complete vacation.
